Trailertown: Robin Williams And A Corpse
Hey guys, it's Donnie...Welcome back to Trailertown!
Winter seems to have set in here in Trailertown. The residents are all staying indoors and we haven't seen to many new arrivals. In fact, today I have only one, but it's one that I've been awaiting for a while, so I wanted to share the wealth.
The Big White: Continuing the winter theme (see, aren't I clever?) Robin Williams stars as an Alaskan travel agent whose wife (Holly Hunter) is losing her marbles. So in order to get her the best care, he tries to pass off a frozen corpse he found in his dumpster as his dead brother so he can cash in the life insurance policy. Only problem is that there are two hitmen looking for the corpse, and his brother is decidedly not deceased. This one looks like tons of fun and one of the better Williams projects in recent memory. The cast is great and I heard good things coming out of the Toronto Film Fest, so here's hoping.

Clerks 2: Okay, I lied. Call it 1.5 trailers. It suddenly occured to me that I hadn't checked the Clerks 2 site recently to see whether or not Kevin Smith had forgotten about his production diaries yet. Turns out he hasn't, and has in fact posted two diary entries and the first set picture since I last visited. Neither one is all that interesting from a production standpoint. The first one, called Camera Prep - 101 is about the guys who spend 4 days before filming begins to check all the camera equipment to make sure it's not gonna break down in the middle of filming. It's exactly as exciting as it sounds. The second one, titled $11,500, is a little more interesting because it's at the production kick off BBQ at Smith's house and the majority of the time is spent talking to the guy who had the winning bid the View Askew Hurrican Katrina Relief Auction, thus allowing him to crash Kevin's party. He also brought a friend who has one of the worst names I've ever heard, and I went to high school with a guy named Harry Long and a girl named Prudence Hymen. Filming has officially begun, so the production diaries should start getting more interesting soon.
