George Gets Curiouser and Curiouser

Hey guys, it's Donnie...This February, one of the greatest characters in the history of modern literature will be coming to the big screen. Who could it be? Gatsby? Ahab? Caulfield?

Not even close.

Curious George, the amazing tail-less wonder will be hitting theaters in all its animated glory. Refreshingly enough, the animation style looks to hold very true to the tone of the original books, and I don't get the feeling that this is going to be another Shrek-esque debacle, where charming fairy tales from my youth are raped and pillaged for a cheap laugh. This actually looks like a fun, earnest kids movie, and that makes me really rather pleased.

The only major change is that The Man With The Yellow Hat will be much more present in the movie, as opposed to the books where he left at the beginning and then showed up again at the end. The producers are calling this mroe of a "buddy movie", and I don't really have a problem with that. Will Ferrell voices The Man In Yellow and Drew Barrymore voices some sort of love interest.

USA Today scored some pictures from the movie, and the first trailer will be hitting theaters this weekend with Wallace And Gromit and The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit, a flick that everyone should go see. If you're unfamiliar with the genius that is Wallace and Gromit...boy are you in for a surprise...
