Seth Rogen Likes Coldplay

Hey guys, it's Donnie...Judd Apatow is finally getting the recognition he so rightly deserves in the wake of The 40 Year Old Virgin's success. If you haven't seen it yet, check it out. It's easily the funniest movie of the year. Wedding Crashers sucked balls by comparison. Actually, that may not be a good comparison, as it kinda sucked balls in general...

Anyway, Seth Rogen, star of the Apatow-verse (he plays Cal, the big guy with curly hair in Virgin) is about to finally get his props as well. Apatow has worked out a deal with Universal to do a "follow up", not a sequel, meaning another low budget, R-rated, off-beat romantic comedy...and Rogen's gonna be the star.

Apatow tells the AP: "I've worked with him since he was 16 on 'Freaks and Geeks' and always thought he could be a big comedy star. The nice thing about `Virgin' is that it shows the studios that if the premise is a strong one, you can take a chance on a new actor in the lead. So I'm going to do the same thing with Seth Rogen."

I'm glad to see Rogen finally see a little success. Aside from Apatow stuff, (Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared) Anchorman (which Apatow produced) and one episode of Dawson's Creek, the only other thing on his resume is second bully from Donnie Darko, where he got such memorable lines as, "Well didn't your dad, like, stab your mom?" and "I like your boobs." In fact, aside from some yelling at the kid from Phantom Planet at the end, I think those are his only actual lines in the whole movie. Anyway, my point is, the kid has skills and I'm excited to see what he does with them.
